Church School Council

Our Church School Council is made up of an enthusiastic group of representatives from Year 1 to Year 6. They are kind-hearted children with Christian- like attitudes and have a great knowledge of our Binbrook Church of England School Values and are experts at demonstrating them around school. They may assist with the planning of Collective Worships, teach other children in classes through the school about Christian topics, demonstrate values in Collective Worships and around school, write prayers and evaluate Collective Worships.  The Church School Council helps to further develop the wonderful Christian Ethos in our church school.

The Church School Council hold an 8am Breakfast Meeting once every half term. Here is a summary of their typical roles:

  • keep the reflection and altar area tidy
  • write prayers for Collective worships and individual classes
  • demonstrate how to live through our Christian school values
  • feeding back the minutes of our meetings to our governors
  • monitor the playground looking for children who don’t have anyone to play with, so they can invite them to play with them
  • look for children who are using their Binbrook Church School Values
  • help in Collective Worships and at Church services by acting out plays, telling stories and reading prayers
  • lead Collective Worships
  • evaluate collective worships
  • plan and create a display for the entrance of the school to share our School values with visitors
